SPROUTS EARLY CHILDHOOD

About the Sprouts Early Childhood Program

  • BCSC’s Early Childhood classes are for three and four-year-old students with special needs who will not be old enough to attend kindergarten the following school year. The early childhood classes follow the BCSC school calendar and are half-day classes.  Special education services are based on the student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP). Classes also include students who are typically developing and part of the Integrated Pathway program. Progress is assessed on individual goals and for kindergarten readiness using the Indiana Student Performance Readiness and Observation of Understanding Tool (ISPROUT).

About the Integrated Pathway program

  • BCSC’s Integrated Pathway program is a low-cost preschool option for typically developing three and four-year-old students who will not be old enough to attend kindergarten the following school year. As part of the Integrated Pathway program, students attend half or full days and participate in play-based instruction to build kindergarten readiness skills. Priority for Integrated Pathway openings are given to children of BCSC staff.  Progress is assessed using the Indiana Student Performance Readiness and Observation of Understanding Tool (ISPROUT).
